Jigsaw Wednesday group takes part in cookery workshop
Michelle (r) demonstrates food preparation
The Jigsaw Wednesday group members had the opportunity to take part in a cookery workshop in November 2011. Bay Tree Catering, based in Speke, got in touch with MOWLL to offer the session as part of their commitment to more community outreach projects. The group went along to learn some cooking skills in a professional catering kitchen.
Individual group members share their knowledge and experience
Michelle O'Dwyer from Bay Tree Catering lead the session as the group learned how to follow recipes, measure amounts, chop, mix and prepare ingredients and use kitchen equipment. Some of the group already had some experience in cooking and were able to help others.
The whole group enjoyed the experience
Together, the group prepared and enjoyed a vegetable korma with chapattis, and banana and mango smoothies. As you can see from the photographs, everyone got involved and thoroughly enjoyed the session! The group hope to take part in more workshops in 2012.
