Disability Equality Training
MOWLL offers Disability Equality Training (Disability Awareness Training) to universities and student practitioners, including social workers, nurses, dentists, and lawyers. We can also offer this training to staff in businesses, charities, public sector organisations and social enterprises.
We share our experiences about being labelled.
We promote the social model of inclusion and person centred thinking.
We highlight that, with the right support, anyone can reach their north star; their potential.
MOWLL provides a wide range of Disability Awareness Training opportunities ranging from two hour- to whole-day sessions as well as workshops for conferences. Although we can cover the full range of disabilities, we specialise in learning disabilities and all training is given by adults with learning disabilities supported by members of the MOWLL staff team. Our training can be tailor-made for different audiences and we use a variety of different delivery methods, eg icebreakers, PowerPoint presentations, quizzes, word games, workshops, lectures etc appropriate for the audience in question. We provide a variety of course materials including lists of Words Not to Use, CDs or printouts of the presentations.
Disability Equality Training sessions are provided by MOWLL Cheif Executive Heidi Kenworthy, PACTT Team Leader Terry Kelly and MOWLL Peer Advocates.
