Art group wins funding award!
Art from the Heart artwork
MOWLL's Art from the Heart group has been awarded funding from Liverpool City Council!
The funding will enable the group to bring in professional local artists to deliver workshops in art techniques. They also plan to take day trips to local art galleries and places of interest where they will gather inspiration.
The grant of over £4,000 will also pay for plenty of art supplies and equipment over the next year. The group plan in the longer term to sell postcards, prints and posters of their work to make the group self-funding eventually. The generous funding from Liverpool City Council will enable them to pay for the initial print run.
A painting by Terry Kelly
Art from the Heart was started by Terry Kelly. Terry is the chair of PACTT (Peer Advocacy Changing Things Together), MOWLL's Peer Advocacy group. He also delivers Disability Equality Training for MOWLL.
Terry started the Art group because he has a passion for art. He believes that art can help people to manage their stress levels and express themselves.
